I just got a new book from the "Tankmaster" series. It's Tropical Freshwater Fishy by Gina Sandford and it says that Black Mollies should have "only a gentile flow of water". That's all it says..

Anyone know why? Guess I should remove my bubble wall from my Molly tank?

I haven't noticed my mollies having a problem with the rather strong current from my Fluval.

My mollies are all in high current tanks with bubble walls. While I don't notice them riding the currents, it certainly hasn't had any adverse effects :D, they reproduce like mad.

I have a couple of 2 gallon eclipse tanks that I use for fry, but I still have an airstone in each, in addition to the bio-wheel filter. Once they have grown out a bit to about an inch, I try to give them away :D Mostly I just keep buying tanks :D My fluval used to suck a few fry into the canister, but thankfully (for me) it broke. :D

I agree with the rest of the gang,I had mollies and never had problems with having too much water flow.Remember that some times these experts are talking about the true wild varieties, the ones you find in central and south america.Maybe in their natural habitats they don't find currents?!Who the hell knows.
Anyhow...Don't worry about it.If your black mollies are doing fine, why change a thing?
