Yesterday I picked up 5 new Molly. When I got home I was looking them over and realized that the reason the dalmation was hiding at the store was because she was in labor! (She didnt even look pregnant) She had the very tip of a tail coming out and you could tell when she was pushing. I acclimated her first and she went about her business. It has been 30 hours since then and she is not pushing anymore and the tail fin is sticking out.
Did she stop because she wasn't stressed anymore? Or did she just give up? Is the baby going to rot and kill the mother, along with the rest of the babies? Anything I can do to help her?
This is my first time owning live birthing fish.

Turn off the lights on the tank and make sure there are lots of places for her to hide. As she is new to the tank you have to make sure the transition is as stress free as possible. She will give birth when she is ready, dont try and capture her or put her in a breeding box just let her be now, she will probably give birth at night.
I take it the tank is cycled?
