I have a tree stump in my tank (plastic)bought it at LFS i will try to send pic but anyways I noticed my dalmation molly is nowhere to be found, how do you lose a fish I am a newbie but there are no signs of her anywhere 1 1/2 days now so I took the stump out to see if she got stuck and died in there but spent hours shaking it looking in it w/ flashlight I have a funny feeling she is in there obviously and sadly dead now but I cant figure out what to do with the stump I didn't want to put it back in the tank, if she is in it that will be really bad to have rotten fish in the tank, having enough problems already and dont need more(Ich,Cottonmouth) soooo should I bring this stump back to the store and get somthing else or what ? HELP ME dont want to stress them out anymore and I took one of there hiding places out of the tank.

Awww sorry to hear you dalmation molly is dead they are so cute. Well i would definitely take the plastic log back as it is obviously a hazard and fatal to the fish. Is it really supposed to go in a fish tank? Well complain anyway and you should get a refund. As for getting something else i would make sure no more fishes can get stuck. Are you managing to treat the infections?

Yes it is made for the fish tank it was expensive too and yes I am treating the infections I just posted an update in the topic Ich, Cottonmouth and now death if you wanna check it out. Im trying to save them. :-(

hang on a second I think I know what you are talking about. Sounds silly but does it look alittle like an alien? Sort of loads of legs? If so we have on of those too. Most our fish disapear into it from time to time but I can assure you there is nowhere inside for a fish to get stuck or trapped. After all it is made for fish tanks!

I trust you've check the filter?

Also what other fish do you have? It might be a case of it being eaten.

What are you amonnia, nitrate and PH levels? If you're not sure get a sample of water down to your LFS for them to test or test it yourself.

In the short term until you find out where or what happened to it I would do a 25% water change just incase like you say there is a roting fish in there somewhere.

oh and check behind the heater......lost a few that way too.

I took the stump out already just in case she is in there, and I did a 50% change last night because of the other problems im having (ICH Cottonmouth) my other fish are listed under my reply. If she was eaten wouldn't there be bones or somthing ? I have a Fluval 304 so there is no way she got sucked up in there. There is a sloted protecter thing on the end of the tube where it sucks the water in. Im puzzled!!!!!!!
