I have a tree stump in my tank (plastic)bought it at LFS i will try to send pic but anyways I noticed my dalmation molly is nowhere to be found, how do you lose a fish I am a newbie but there are no signs of her anywhere 1 1/2 days now so I took the stump out to see if she got stuck and died in there but spent hours shaking it looking in it w/ flashlight I have a funny feeling she is in there obviously and sadly dead now but I cant figure out what to do with the stump I didn't want to put it back in the tank, if she is in it that will be really bad to have rotten fish in the tank, having enough problems already and dont need more(Ich,Cottonmouth) soooo should I bring this stump back to the store and get somthing else or what ? HELP ME dont want to stress them out anymore and I took one of there hiding places out of the tank. :/

Is there no where else she could be??

If she was pregnant, witch is posable for all livebearers. She will seak a hiding spot to give birth.

I would take the stump back, as I bet they will give you nothing for it, and proberly won't take it back if they know there maybe a dead fish in it.

Personaly I would try and take the stump apart and make shore if she in there just to put your mind at rest.

Shine a torch in it if you can, also look in the filter if it's a juwel, you sometimes have to pull all the sponges out and shine a torch in it, if it's not a really big tank remove plastic plants and ornaments as they always seem to die behind plants.

I drilled holes in it last night becuase it felt like there was a vacum suction sound when I shook it but still not luck. In the tank there is only a rock wall thing and 3 plants and a couple of small rocks I know she is not in the tank anywhere. I really like the stump this really bites. :/

Make sure she hasn't jumped out of the tank, look every where around the tank it's surprising where they end up as they keep jumping about when out of water.

I did that to. I was freaking out I looked everywhere for her. But no luck. There is the one posibility of my Powder blue dwarf gourami eating her(dont really think so) but I will have had him for 1wk now and he only sits in the side of my tank and chases his reflection all the time he doesn't seem to be eating either the day before yesterday I noticed a ulcer type thing on his side talked to someone they believe it is gourami disease (treating w/ kanamycin) did read somthing about if they eat other sick fish this could happen but not sure it is all so puzzling.

Yes you are treating your fish with the right treatment an antibiotic, that type of fish are prone to ulcers i'm afraid, check your water quality as if the fish has decayed it might alter your water quality.
