I have a white molly in a 2.5gal tank for the past 2 weeks. I had to remove her because she was coming down with the symtoms that my other white mollies had before they all died. Loss of scails on cheeks, low or not eating, inactive. She has only lost a scail on one cheek. I raised the temp to 85 f, added salt, and started feeding her 3 or 4 times a day. Since then she has gained back weight, is active again, but still has that scail missing. I don't know what to do for her. Any suggestion? I don't know the parameters of my other tank because I just spend my money on other aquariums supplies for my new tank I just got for free. yay! But let's face it teenagers don't have alot of money. So I don't know what to do.

Sorry lilmolly,
I don't mean to be picky, but fish don't have scales on their cheeks. In fact they don't have cheeks! :D Do you mean the gill cover? Is it damaged in some way? Can you see anything hanging out from it? Are the gills inflammed? Is the fish having difficulty breathing? OR is it something completely different and that I've got the wrong end of the stick.

Yes the gill cover was damaged. 2 weeks ago you could see the white hanging off from it's gill. The gills are not inflammed. The fish doesn't have difficultly breathing. Everything appears to be normal now except that you can see a red spot where the white non-scale came off.
