Can someone please look over my choices for my first fish and see if they'll all be happy together?

Lightly planted 10 gallon...

Initially 4 lyretail mollies (2 black, 2 silver).

Possibly with some small bottom feeder.

Then 4 or 5 mail guppies to be added later.

As for my love of Bettas...I thought it best that as a beginner I don't venture in to any risky tank combinations, so I'm going to start a second small tank for one lone (hopefully not loneLY) male Betta when my first tank is slightly more established.

You can only keep 2 Mollies max in a 10 gallon, because they get to 4". And even then I wouldn't keep them in there for life. I don't know how Mollies and Guppies would be, because it depends on the temperment of the Mollies. Some can be aggressive and nippy....but I'd say don't risk it. 10 gallons is too small for them if they will be aggressive, because the Guppies will have no room to get away. I'd stick to 5 Male Guppies and your bottom feeder. :)
