The gills (the inside) of my mollie are basically completely white. I do not think it is Ick because everything I have read about ick does not really match what is happening here. He also had (at one point) a white ring around the top half of his eye (like a half moon). That seems to be almost gone.

There also seems to be something stating on the top of his head. Its almost a circle on the top if his head and you can tell its there because it doesnt match the rest of his fins. I am really not sure whats going on, I am somewhat new to fish so consider me a newbie:)

There are other fish in the tank too (Beta, catfish, Goldfish)....

Thanks in advance for any help.

I just read this:

Fungus:: Common disease that effects all kinds tropical fish. Fungus mostly infects in poor water conditions in which there are unacceptable levels of ammonia or nitrites. Fin nippers will damage the fins of other fish making them more susceptible to fungal infections and external bacterial infections such as fin and tail rot.

Symptoms A white cottony fluff will appear on fish. Can be around body or in mouth. Fin rot appears as white on ends of fins.

Treatment: Relatively easy. Add appropriate medication (Available for all fungal infections). If fish are salt tolerant add salt. Raise the temp to 30 deg C or 80deg F.

It sounds similar because I looked at the end of the mollie's fins (which should be all black) and they are white!...but the inside of the gills being white is just weird.

Another thing I noticed...he always seems to be trying to stick his tongue out (figure of speech).
