Hi there I’m new to the forum so hopefully I’m posting in the correct forum.. my question is that my mollie has just given birth and luckily after studying my mollie I could tell she was about to give both so put her in the breeding tank and within about an hour - I have lots of babies 😊😊

my question is - when can I let the mother out and back into the main tank??
babies will obviously stay in the breeding tank until big enough 😀 but unsure about the mother (I think she’s done popping them out😊)
Thanks I’m damage for any advice

Yes move the mother out,

It's preferable not to move the gravid (pregnant) females because they get stressed when you chase them and when they get put into a small breeding net/ trap. Best results are obtained when the female is left in a tank with lots of plants and no males. Then she can give birth and not get stressed by you chasing them with a net and sticking them in a small container. Having no males lets the female give birth without being harassed by the males.

The baby fish should be fed 3-5 times a day. newly hatched brineshrimp is one of the best foods for the babies. Microworms are also a good food for them.

you should put some little plants for the babies to eat algae and play in!

Are you sure you've got a molly there? She looks like a guppy to me.
First day the young won't need any feeding for they'll use the nutrients in the yolk sac first.
