Modifying Tropiquarium 88 Canopy

Hey guys,

I plan to start a planted tank. My tank is a tropiquarium 88 by hagen. it has 2 x 24" 20w tubes. the tank is 33" long, 15" wide and 18" tall. I plan to modify it to use 2 36W compact fluorescent lights, which I am told will provide suffcient lighting for certain plants.

Has anyone has done this to their tropiquarium 88 before? I just swapped ballasts and I'm looking for ideas on how to mount the lamps (the old mounts don't work anymore).

Any help would be great.

hmmm...

We've got the 88 as well (2 of them infact - one is in the garage not used)

Its not something i can see being easy. but shough be possible depending on how DIY you want to go.

you could simply cable tie the lamps to the hood in the original positions and put the screen back in.
