What size do young tigers need to be to mix with older larger barbs? I've got some green barbs that are 1.5-2cm long, but my tigers are maybe 3-4cm, being aggressive little creatures I'm worried about adding them, never realised the size difference when I ordered them. Its for the tank in my sig, lots of hiding places and plants in it but still worried.

I have kept tiger barbs of different sizes before and didn't have any trouble. Bigger the group lesser the aggression will be.

It's a small group of larger tigers (4) and adding 10 to the tank, as I discovered they should be kept in a larger group.

looks like the worry was over nothing, they are all shoaling together and look fantastic.

hi we've often had different ages/sizes of tb's & never had a problem with the little ones getting picked on in fact it tends to be the babys annoying the elder barbs ive got a little video somewhere of a teeny green barb really irritating his much bigger tankmate :)

qualitys rubbish but you get the idea of the annoying kid

LOL great video, millym... that's exactly what it's like in my tank now that I added 3 little tigers to my bunch - none of the bigger ones get any peace :hyper:
