Mixing male and female guppies

Hi, I was thinking of getting a male guppy to add to my tank with 3 females. Is it possible for them to live without the male stressing the females out too much because when i first had my tank i had 2 female and one male platy and it was driving them mad and it was stressful for me to keep watching them!

Will the same definatly happen if i get a male guppy because it's just males seem to have brighter colouring?

most people on here seem to say one male for 3 femals will be ok as he won;t be after anyone female to much!

Yes, I agree. 3 females is about a perfect number to have with one male guppy.

my new guppy and platy seem to be doing fine! Thing is the new male guppy seems to keep going after the new female platy. Hope he realises he's not a platy!
