mixing live rock

Can i introduce live rock from meditteranean into a tropical set - up ?
has the temperate live rock(which can thrive in hot water) any bacteria which might be a threat to the aquarium life ??? i asure you that purple and pink algae is an everyday seeing here in greece so a couple of greek pounds would be i nice adition

The coralline algae on the live rock quickly turns into white patches in a tropical system. Also, true live rock is mostly calcium so your water hardness and ph could be affected.
