I have 3 Dwarf Puffers and want bala sharks (sm), red-tailed shark (sm), and albino rainbow sharks (sm). Please let me know if these can be grouped. Thanks

Balas are a no-no, since they prefer to be kept in groups and easily get to a 1' in length. The sharks would potentially work, though they are also aggressive, so don't add too many of them.

What would you say to 3 red-tailed and 3 albino rainbow?

No.. I think you should read up on the fish you have first.. I believe puffers need some salt, and I don't believe either sharks like salt.

Those sharks are solitary fish.. they do not like others of their kind.. if you were to get 2 red tails, they would fight.. if you were to get 2 albinos, they would fight.. if you were to get 1 of each, they would fight.

I haven't kept 'em, so I would not trust my own advice. Past what I've already told you, though IMO, that's too many sharks, esp. since they get 4"+.

i believe the dwarf puffers are freshwater, not brackish, so salt isn't a big issue. also they generally will rip into just about everything once they reach maturity. Those beaks are like little scissors and i've heard stories of them killing much larger fish. This, however, is all informaion that i've read on this forum as i haven't kept these fish myself, still, I'd be leary of putting much else in that tank with THREE of them.

Dwarf puffers are really for a species tank- nothing but themselves in there, c. 5 gallons of water/puffer.

Red-tailed sharks are known for their territoriality- they will fight with anything that looks remotely like themselves, so one per tank of those, and tbh they would probably prefer a slightly larger tank.

Bala sharks- na, you're looking at a 100 gallon+ tank.

Since you've already got the puffers, it is hard to say what you can do, except maybe add some more puffers. Unless of course, you invest in another tank :hey:
