I used to have a sochting carbon reactor (bell diffuser) and a nutrafin kit. I am now just using the nutrafin kit, as I was jubious about the sochting one, and got fed up with forking out for the replacements and the awkward method of setting it up.

SO.. i am looking to carry on with the one nutrafin kit & ladder, but use seachem flourish (normal plant food) and seachem flourish excel for the carbon/minerals.

So.. My question is to understand what the overlap is with injecting CO2 and using excel. Do I use less Excel because i am using CO2? The CO2 test will only regiter the CO2 method of getting carbon in to the tank, so is there a way to check how much excel you need on top of the CO2.

Cheers

You should dose the full amount of CO2 and the full amount of Excel as stated on the bottle.

Excel is not a CO2 replacement, its a CO2 suppliment, despite what the bottle says. It has good effect if you dont dose CO2 but gives much better results when dosed in conjunction with CO2

Your drop checker will only register CO2

Thanks Aeropars.. I haven't bought it yet, so have not read the bottle ;) ....

(for the 2 liter bottle) dose 1 capful per 100 gallons daily.
