Mixed Tetras

got my 1st fish today after cycling the tank, wanted 6 black widow tetras but lfs only had 3 so got 4 flame tetras also ,they were all in same tank together but flames seem a bit bigger, have added them to my tank they seem to shoal ok together will they be compatiable although there 2 different kinds

Shoaling or schooling is a defense strategy. If the fish feel threatened, they school up, if the perceived threat is severe enough, different species will school together. In a stress free environment, many "schooling" species will do their own thing, in their own direction at their own pace.
