Gradually getting towards the end of setting my tank up. Bought the tank on Ebay thinking I'd saved money, but ended up spending far too much on all the other bits and bobs :*)

First off the tank on the stand it's 48 by 18 by 24 deep, which is roughly 320 litres, 72 UK gallons or 85 US gallons.

Here is a picture of all the stuff that has to housed in the cupboard,

All the electrics are now in place,

Hurrah, mission complete.

All the tubes and wires are routed up the side as the wife wanted a clear background, and I didn't want to be able to see it all behind

Finally, hood on and all the electrics on and running :kana:

Quite a few small jobs left but the worst is out of the way. Time to get some plants next..............

Two fluvel 304s? They're each rated for a 300 litre tank! What are you going to keep that needs that much filtration?

The tank (320l) came with one  . I thought a bit extra filtration wouldn't do any harm so when I saw that my LFS had 304's for £65 it seemed like a good idea. Only trouble was that I had already made the stand, and hadn't quite calculated how tight it was going to be fitting it all in

Fair enough. :D

We bought a new 304 yesterday for Martha's tank.
We got it from Pets at Home for £59.99

Excellent filter.

that is excellent!!!!!! wonderful job!!!!

and

you can never ever ever over filter a tank ;)

Thanks for the kind comments.

It's going to be a well planted community tank. I have three 40w bulbs, two sun-glo and a blue one. Hopefully with the reflectors that should be enough light.

Now that the tank is full of water I'm a little worried what to chose. We are moving a sailfin plec, two clown loach(one died, so more are on the shopping list) four corydoras and lemon tetras. As the tank is 24" high there is alot of space in the top third. What would hang around there?

Great looking tank and stand and well done for geting all the bits in the cupboard.

Just a thought....I have two light units in a similiar cupboard under my tank and they get very hot next to each other!!

great setup! correct me if I'm wrong, but did you get a UV sterilizer? Also, those are some strange looking fluorescent ballasts!

No, never had a UV sterilizer. In the top photo the ballasts are the three things with white circles on them. The black thing next to them is an inline heater. I think every ballast that I've come across looks like that over here, guess you guys have something different.

Oh i love these types of threads where you see the tank being setup and then with fish in it later  great pics
