An otto went missing in the 20g a few weeks ago. At first I thought it was just hiding or I was seeing a different otto each time I saw one. I realized that indeed there was only one when I was cleaning the tank. I looked everywhere including the filter box for the other one. No sign anywhere. I am guessing one died and someone ate it. The other otto seems happy and fat and healthy. What could have happened to the other one? :dunno: None of the fish in that tank have been sick, indeed all of them are from my first batch of fish and seem to be thriving. Water levels are good and I have a bio wheel for that tank. Nothing is different in there, constant temp, same feeding.

Ottos can be very tempremental, one of them could have developed an internal problem, but from what I have always seen on here people seem to have problems keeping them.

I have 5 myself and have done for well over a year. Never had any problems with them and they've been moved about between a few different tanks but now currently are split between a 5 and a 15Gallon.

I did a PWC yesterday and there is no 2nd otto anywhere I can see. I fear it died as I can figure no other explanation. They'd been in that tank for months and fine. So strange. The other is still cleaning away with a fat belly. Wish I knew what happened. The rest of the fish are still fine as are the live plants.
