I had three little otos in a 10 gallon tank and now I only have two. I took out all of the plants, rocks, etc and also checked the filter -- nothing there.

Nothing on the stand or floor. Just gone.

The tank only has the otos and some small snails. Do otos eat dead fish? Maybe it was the snails?

You checked under the gravel? It takes them a while to eat dead fish if they do...not just a few hours.

I did a gravel vac and came up empty....

I haven't seen her for a week (since the last cleaning). This particular oto was in hiding most of the time so I didn't think much of it when I did not see her for a few days.

So do you think it was the other otos or the snails?? Just curious.

I could have been both. I really can't say! It is weird though.

it would be the snails as otos eat nothing but algea

it might have jumped out the tank though, i've found a few otos on the carpet.

Mine are very partial to catfish pellets believe it or not (much to the consternation of my cories...)

They are zippy little jumpers, also they don't tend to be very careful of the gravel vac - I have to watch mine very carefully to stop them getting minced
