I recently added 10 rummy nose tetra to my tank of Dwarf Gouramis , neon tetra, and coryodora.
Four days later I have two left - one was floating dead on the top - the others are simply missing - I have looked everywhere, including all the hiding places.
Is it possible the Dwarf Gourami -( only about one inch long ) - could have eaten them ? - the neon tetra are about the same size as the Rummy nose, and no problems at all.
Any ideas please ?

What fish exactly do you have in your tank now ? I doubt that it's the gourami, though not impossible.....Do you have any other catfish ?

Six Dwarf Gourami, 20 neon tetra, and four bronze coryodora - Thats it.
The odd thing is that the rummy nose are if anything bigger than the neon, but, I did notice that they were not feeding when I put them in afew days ago - however, that does not expain why they have gone missing.
The remaining two are ok - at the moment anyway !!
All my water test readings are ok.

Very odd indeed  I just doubt it's the gourami's but it's most certainly not the neons. I've lost smaller fish before, but that was due to some hungry catfish!

:dunno:

I lost a glass catfish that was in a tank with bronze cory's and pristellas. How stupid do you feel wehn you start looking under the table for a fish (when you have a hood on the tank anyway? ). I have no idea where it went although obviously it died and was scoffed - maybe the cory's? :dunno:

I am certain it was the cories who got mine, and, Lieutenant Columbo agrees :)
I took the cories back to the shop - no more problems since.

did u check filter? some time fish can get suck inside. I have a neon who go suicide and the next morning  you dont want to know what it looks like when I found him inside my filter.

 check the filter and check for any gaps in the tank lid
mix the substrate about abit too, when fish die they can be burried under the gravel or sand.It could of been the gourami mine murdered its friend

helllllo ive got a feeling its the gourami s they can be a bit funny :(

I very seriously doubt it was the Cories. They don't occupy the same level, and they are very peaceful. It would also be hard for them to kill a fish, as they have scavenging mouths...

It was probably the Gouramis. With that many in there, they could form a band and start attacking fish. I wouldn't put it past them.

It is also possible they died, and then the other fish ate them. What are your water params?
