Ok last night I had 4 blue/green chromis then noticed there was only 3, I left them overnight just thinking the other one was hiding but this morning still cant see it.

There is a possibility it is hiding in the rocks or even dead in the rocks I suppose but I had a good look but could not see him.

I have a goby, yellow tang, 4 small damsels, 2 clowns, 1 sand sifting star, hermits and snails which are all very small....none of those could have eaten it could they?

I dont really want to have to get all the rock out and stress my tang out to try and find it, any suggestions?

I would definitely do your best to look around for it... otherwise you could end up with an ammonia spike. If you really can't find him, monitor your parameters for the next week and be prepared for an emergency water change. It is possible the hermits or star could have eaten them...

Chromis can be tricky. Unless you have a large group, many times they will pick each other off one by one until there's only one left... Would also suspect the damsels as they are generally nasty fish.

Thanks for the reply, this morning he was back out, he must have just been hiding.

Thats interesting about the star and the hermits though, I woudlnt have thought they would be able to eat something of that size.
