seems to be typical in new set ups!

one my platies has disappeared!!!!!!!! the 2 silver/black ones seemed the least settled since i got them, always hanging around the top of the tank mainly etc, one managed to squeeze into the juwel internal filter this morning, even though you'd never have thought it could squeeze in between those tiny gaps. anyway now one is missing i have checked everywhere, used a torch to look all over inside the juwel internal filter and cannot spot it at all, took out the pump n sponges still no luck. Checked my fluval u2 filter thoroughly too! (I have 2 filters running)

Going to end up with an ammonia spike soon probably now :( tested tonight still at 0's for now. Checked all the ornaments too. Its weird how it is nowhere to be seen.

Worried about a dead fish decaying / ammonia situation now

Yup, its classic, we've all experienced it. Its amazing how hard they can be to find. Don't forget they can manage to jump out of the tank too and then flop away pretty far from the tank somewhere in the room. --wd--

will have a look behind tank, cant imagine it jumping out from a juwel tank as my lids always closed and it would need to jump onto the filter lid first then jump out of the tank from the gap where the wires come out, but i guess its possible as it is a large enough hole

tested today still double 0's phew! hope it stays that way!!

 it had managed to jump out after all, found it under the drawer all dried out ! poor thing

 Awww.. poor thing. At least you found it. I remember fish jumping out of my first tank years ago. :(

Lol, yes; those fish can J-U-M-P!!!! :p

I have never actually had a fish jump *OUT* of the tank before; and even though there *IS* a pretty big hole at the top, it *STILL* couldn't jump out because the water surface is like an inch or 2 below it. XD

Sorry for your loss, yasinullah.... You should maybe try to cover that part of the tank with plastic wrap or something....? :(

thanks for ur support and condolences !!

will lower water level a tiny bit and plug that gap with something not too sure what yet, plastic wrap sounds gd, will probs tape some on , thanks
