missing fish & 1 skinny one

i have 5 leopard danio's - well now i have 4! Where has it gone?
I have checked the stones for bones incase the others had eaten t but it is not there.

Any suggestions??

Another one, one of my fish is EXTREMLEY skinny, he has lost alot of qeight recently, is he going to die??

If you have a HOB filter, check inside of the filter. Danios are active jumpers and can easily make it into most filters through the return flow. Also check outside the aquarium unless your hood completely covers the tank--fish can and will jump all the way out of an aquarium.

Otherwise--if a fish dies, you seldom find anything, certainly not any bones from something as small as a danio. Their bones are very fine and easily break apart, and other fish/snails will quickly scavenge any meat.

For the skinny fish--watch carefully next time you feed. Danios are very aggressive, and have a hierarchy--it's possible this is the 'bottom' fish, and is being chased away from the feeding. Try spreading the food across the entire top of the tank, a bit at a time, so it disperses throughout the tank.

I have 3 leopard Danios and 3 Zebra Danios, the night I got my fish every fish was accounted for, the next morning, one was missing, I opened the filter and one was on the far side of the filter carterage. make sure to check there.

Fishes love to jump, god even one of my puffers has tried it!!!!!!!!!!

I was very lucky, he almost got out!!!!!!

I am very glad he didn't and don't worry about it (and I don't mean this to sound horrible please don't take it that way), go and check your filter but if you can't find anything there or outside the aquarium, just concentrate on getting your other danio better!
