I have a "nursery" tank for my livebearers. I had app 40 baby sailfins that are/were about two months old now, and pretty good size. There was some algae starting to grow on the glass. The lfs recommended small otos to take care of the problem because it is only a 10 gallon tank.

I just went in there and fed. I only have 23 babies today. I added the otos (2) about a week and a half ago. They are only about an inch (IF that) long and small. Could the otos have eaten my babies????? I scooped all my babies out and put them in the guppie tank since they are too big to be eaten by them now.

Nope, otos are tiny and completely harmless. However, if the babies died of disease, whatever, it is likely that the other fish in there have eaten the bodys.

I doubt they died of disease. NONE have died since they were born, not one which I found encouraging and surprising. All that is in that tank were them and two otos, oh...and two tiny apple snails. I set that tank up specifically for a nursery. I'm so disappointed.
