So the silver lyretail I got a week ago is missing an eye. I'm pretty sure I would have noticed if it had been like that all along. In with her is rainbow shark angel glass shrimp mollies neon tetras danios and oto? Any ideas as to the most likely culprit? Also lost a black Molly today. Think it was the one that dropped fry last week. She looked a bit chewed on tail etc but then that could have been post death.

In happier news I haven't lost any of the 11 fry I've separated. Saw another one tonight that wasn't black so I'm thinking the silver or cremecicle may have dropped a few. Didn't catch it though. Hopefully it will live long enough for me to see which one.

Yesterday my black male found his way into the breeding net. Small jump maybe? Good news is he didn't eat any of the fry.

My guess would be the rainbow shark or angels...most likely the shark. In regard to determining which fry came from which female, all of the different color variations of molly can interbreed. It's not impossible that the non-black fry came from the black molly if she'd been bred by a non-black male.

Since I just got her from the store I assume that hasn't happened yet. I was thinking shark too. I'm planning to get a second tank and that will help me determine how to divide the tank.
