I finally got some crytstal red shrimp and have lovingly kept them all together in a large suspended net in one of my tanks just until their numbers increase. Don'tworry they have timber in the net as well as live plants, even some rocks to wonder over. Only trouble is the crystal reds have discovered a way out of the net while the resident cherry shrimp have found their way into the net. Try as I might I can't find where the change over is taking place, but I would really like the two types to stick to their own areas.

Why are you trying to control the areas of the tank they live in? It's not like they will breed together or anything. CRS need room to move, they shouldn't be in a net IMO.

I agree you should leave them all to be together.... I have my crs mixed with sakuras. I would sayblots of open space for rooming otherwise risk death....

I only had them together in the net for safe keeping to ensure they didn't just disappear never to be seen again in the deep dark recesses of my 4ft tank. The last thing I wanted was to have them all go and die on me without me ever seeing them or giving them the chance to fully accliamtise to thier new home.
