For those who didn't see it (most I think), two of my panda cories got severe finrot overnight a week or so back and one was so bad I was sure it was going to die as it's tail fin was nearly 100% gone. I looked today and saw all three with tail fins. Not just nubs either but actual tails.
The one with it the worst just has about a third or so right now but compared to the practically nothing it had before, that's some amazing growth in just a few days. The other which was suffering more on it's dorsal fin has a full or nearly full dorsal and tail fins as well. Either I'm very lucky or else I have some amazingly robust pandas.
I dosed the tank at first with some Jungle stuff, then realizing it might kill my snails, did a big water change. I switched to Maracyn II and Maracyn (grabbed the wrong packet by mistake) next and did the 5 day treatment. It made the water turn white like a bacterial bloom but it did the trick obviously. Luckily my third panda didn't catch it nor did any one else in the tank. My apple snail is alive and kicking as are the rest of the horde so the medicine didn't kill the snails.
Water is still white tinted after a near 50% water change a few days ago but clearer than it was. If you ever get finrot on your fish, I'd definitely recommend that Maracyn stuff. It's also nonharmful to beneficial bacteria.
