Hi,

I've had White Cloud Minnows for around 3 weeks now - one of them died a week after being put in the tank.....was never really active, hiding alot in the plants and then I couldn't find him and discovered he was in the filter. Not sure what happened.

Since then the other 5 have looked happy enough until recently one of the females started acting the same way. Just staying in one spot and not really swimming much - just the occasional flick of her fins and a short swim every now and then. I've managed to get a photo but as far as I can see there are no visible signs of disease - anyone got any ideas?

I've since noticed around 5 tiny fry clinging to the glass and a few free swimming although I don't have any floating plants so not sure how long they'll survive. Will try and get a breeding mop tomorrow to give them half a chance.

Water quality is good - ammonia 0, nitrites 0 and nitrates around 20ppm and have been doing a 30% water change every week. Temp around 74C and pH around 7.4

Any comments would be appreciated

Thanks

Phil

Everything looks and sounds good to me. Congrats on the fry too. Don't be too worried if they are not always super active. I have a school of 11 of them and many of them like to stay in one place. I find that the males are much more active than the females as well. If you notice that she segregates herself a lot from the group, then something may be wrong but for now just observe and wait, not much else you can do.
