It seems that some people here always have questions of what size tank they need for a certain fish. Or what they can put into a certain sized tank. Thsese are the absolute minimum sizes. And Some of these have come from readings I have done.

So I thought that a post like this would be good with a list of fish, and the size tanks they need. Everyone feel free to add to it, and correct me if Im wrong. ill copy it and past it here in alphabetical order.

The smallest tank that should be used for any fish IMO should be 18x10x10" (roughly 7.5g) and the absolute minimum sized tank a fish should be kept in is one that is 4x the length of the fish long and at least 1.5x the length of the fish wide and tall, for example a 6" fish would need a bare minimum of a 24x9x9" tank (about 8.5 gallons). This is the minimum ammount of room needed for the fish to be able to make a full circuit of the tank when swimming.

Of course this is just a rough guide line and in no way do i recomend or suggest people keep fish in tiny tanks, bigger is always better. Also some fish will require larger or smaller tanks acording to their natural behavior, fish that are fast swimmers will require longer than recomended tanks and fish that tend not to move much at all can be kept in smaller than recomended tanks.

Bolivians need a 20L, and the other rams should just be under one category ;) Other than that this is pretty good
