just a common pet store pleco its black with a siver stripe i think

your 'common pet store pleco' could be many things, most common around here would be:

common plec: requires a min of 75G in my opinion
sailfin plec: requires a min of 75G in my opinion
bristlenose plec: requires a min of 15G in my opinion

I'm sure you can see the difference there
Try and find out exactly which species it is ... PlanetCatfish has pretty much all of them hosted ... try looking through the pictures and see if you can find which one resembles it most

they get to about 6" I'd go with 20gal.
