my book that i like to think i stick to says 2 is a minimum which would be perfect to my stocking plan at the mo but on the internet it says more? some as much as 6 as a minimum

just wondering?

the book i have says that black phantoms are 'effective' in shoals of 10-15 but IMO that means they look good in shoals of more than 10 space permitting. i have always been told that tetras should always be kept in groups of more than 6 but as anyone will know from reading my other posts i am no expert and have been given lots of conflicting advice in my short time as a hobbyist!!

With any shoaling species you should be looking at 5 as a bare minimum, They wouldn't be called shoaling fish if they didn't mind be kept in 1s and 2s :good:
