None the less, it's not a pleco, it's not even a catfish.

What we have here is a relative of the loaches that has developed plec-like features due to convergant evolution.

thanx i might consider getting one.Is a 10 gallon ok.I have 2 white clouds in there.

I've got 3 Gastromyzon beaufortia in my tank, and they're cool. They don't grow huge, and they're devour all the algae no problem. They don't school together or anything though. They're very skitty and zip off at the sight of other fish.

Notably, these aren't tropical fish, they're very much coldwater. They live in fastflowing hillstreams and the water is always COLD and WELL OXYGENATED. So it is best to replicate this in home aquaria, with fast flow also.

what size tank can they go in?

Minimum 20g long.

A few more important facts:
1. They do better with lots of water flow and oxygenation.
2. They are coldwater fish. No higher than 72F or so.
3. They are schoolers. Keep in groups of 4+.
