milky on surface

my tank has got a milky type film on the top of the water, it seems to always appear when i do water changes, why am i getting this?

I think its because the oil on your hands arernt getting washed off before you do a water change so scrub your hands with water (don't use soap) every time you do a water change

What do you feed them i use a trout pellet evry week or so and that leaves a similar film. try using a differant food if so

do u use tap water to wash ur filter media (sponge etc?). Or do u use ur aquarium water to wash them?

my filter media hasnt been in there long so only washed it once, that was a few weeks ago. think it maybe oils on my hands
