i am feeling a bit confused tonight. had a second trip to the LFS with swmbo, she is becoming more into this marine stuff but still not pleased about the cost, anyway back to the point each time we have visited a shop she gravitates towards the tangs, yellow & regal and each time i've told thats a non starter our tank is way too small and you can't keep them together anyway. now i have been seeing tangs in a tank the same size as mine a rio 240l 55 imp gal, can this be done, please advise as this could really help getting my beloved motivated about marine (well a little interested )and therefore make my life easier in the process. BTW if i get told you can keep a juve until it gets too big then i wont be getting them, i dont want to pass any fish on......cheers kevin

Regal tang needs a 5-6ft tank really. 55 gallon is what a lot of sites reccomend as the absolute minimum for a yellow tang. It's one of those decisions you kinda have to make yourself as you will get people on both sides of the fence on this one i think.

I wouldn't personally for the yellow tang and the regal is a definite no no imo. I don't think they are the most problematic to mix if done when young as they are different types of Tang. I have certainly seen them together before.

You would be fine early on if you get small ones mate but be prepared to rehome one or both down the line as the regals especially get big. Could work in your favour down the line :shifty: when you say the regal is getting abit big for the tank and has to be rehomed you might be allowed a bigger tank :D
