So, I'm thinking I might like to try breeding my bettas this summer when I'll have time for it. So, I was wondering if you guys could help me pick a pair? So, I tried to get pictures of all my males, and I got them of all of them except Elan, who is currently sick, not sure with what (see here). So, for Elan's picture, I'll be using one I have of him from when he was young.
Males
Bob:
Bob is a tough little betta, good size, but he thinks he's all that and he certainly rules the tank! Very photogenic as well. Not sure what tail he is, I want to say halfmoon, but not sure it's right...
Sakima:
Sakima is a fun boy, tends to be sweet. He was the smallest betta I had when I first got him, but he's quickly grown into the largest at a bit over 2 inches, I'd almost label him a King betta! He is a crown or comb tail, not sure which...

Gaurdian:
I have a better picture of him, but, none show off his colors as they all make him look green! So, yeah. Gaurdian is my newest addition, had him a bit over a week. He's a very calm boy, I worry he may actually be too calm to breed, but, we'll see. He is a fighter though, but not aggressive. He's got a great temperament and wouldn't let his old filter push him around too much. He is a veiltail
Elan
The master of bubble nests when he's healthy, he once had one covering almost his entire top of the tank. Sorry to say, but, I had to destroy it to change the water and feed him! He's a fun boy, very active for a betta! Not really a true couch potato I've noticed! Sorry for the blurry pics, and the third one is him the day i got him, i just had to share because he looks so cute with the GIANT top fin...
Females
Aphrodite:
One of my newest females, had her a while so far. Rescued from an oh so lovely home (that was sarcasm ). She's settling in nicely, and her quarantine is finally drawing to a close - yes, i know, long time, but, I'd rather be safe than sorry! Reminds me a bit of Gaurdian, but she's also feistier than him. I believe she is a delta tail?
Sakima's Sister
A bit of an attention hog, and she seems VERY eager to breed. I placed her by a male for a while during the move, and Elan had built a nest, and she had stripes! This picture was taken soon after that trip, so, excuse her belly. Her white spot was EXTREMELY visible that day - i think you can even see it in the second picture... She used to rule the female tank, but she is now second in command and she is the smallest female i have - she is TINY compared to her brother!
Pastel Green Female:
First picture is mainly used to show her true colors, the green now spreads her entire body up to her gills. Worked her way up from punching bag to Queen of the tank! Very fun, always tries to be center of attention! Sister of the Red/Blue/Purple Female
Red/Blue/Purple Female:
First picture mainly to show off her coloring. Excuse the blurrines... Her coloring has spread to cover more of her so she's a lot more red with blue. This female ruled the tank for the first few days, before Sakima's Sister stepped up and took over, leaving her in second. Then the pastel green female - her sister! - stepped up and took over and now she is lowliest. There aren't many fights, and she gets plenty of food, but she seems content at the bottom of the pecking order! She has red gills as a permanent part of her coloring, been there since I got her, and the water is always perfect!
