So I was cleaning out my tank today and seen something wiggle in the corner of the tank, and what do ya know..it was a baby fish. Now I dont have any Male/Females of the same species so I think it was the micky mouse fish I had and it prob was preg when I got it. I think they have been in the tank a few days tho because I only found 10 babys and there are about 5 fish in there that would eat them...including a big gold fish...so I think most of them got eaten.

How many fish do Micky Mouse fish usually have? more then 10?

also, what is the correct way to care for them? do I just put them in a little tupplewear container or something like that untill they get bigger and just feed them ground up fish flakes? Should I add a air stone into there water or no? It seems like it makes them have to swim alot and I dont want to stress them out...

Also how long does it take untill there usually big enouph to go back into the community tank to start breeding themself?

A mickey mouse platy will usually drop about 30 to 50 fry. A very young one will be closer to the 30 number in most cases. If you want to try to keep them separate from your other fish, a separate container is easy. A standard emergency barracks in a fish room is a plastic storage container like you might use to store winter clothes during summer. You would want one that will hold 10 gallons or more of water so that you don't need to constantly be changing water. An air stone running constantly will keep the water stirred up enough that you will get good mixing. The air supply can be even more useful by operating a simple sponge filter in the tank. You can indeed feed the fry some finely powdered food until they start to get big enough to eat larger pieces. Don't forget that frequent feedings will mean the water quality deteriorates quickly. You will want to do frequent large water changes on the fry's tank.
