Lucky! To have seen two meteors at once, I've only seen two in my whole life! Once when I was little, on Halloween I saw one (still a little speculative if it was a meteor or not...) and a few years ago when I went on a school trip to some rural, marshy part of the Chesepeake Bay...I could see the whole milky way in the night sky when i saw the second one...beautiful...too bad where I live the light pollutions pretty bad..its a miracle if i can see the Big Dipper or really lucky if i see Orion or even Cygnus

if you look it up it ghjves you the dates for all of them

Blubble is right, there are 2 or 3 regular ones each year when the Earth travels through the wake of an ancient comet.

The Leonids that appear to originate in the constellation Leo: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonids Just got over (probably one of the very last particles the OP saw) -- mid Novemeber each year

The Perseids that appear to originate in the constellation Perseus: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perseids Late July-Early August each year

these are the two strongest that I read about each year. I am sure that there are more. Here is a fuller list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_meteor_showers
