Okay so I decided I would move some of my betta tanks around yesterday. I had angus in a filtered 8 gallon tank with some ghost shrimp for a week or two. His fins didn't seem to be bothered by the small current in the tank, but he was having a difficult time swimming. So I removed him from the 8 gallon hex filtered tank and put him in the 10 gallon hex with the female in it. I took the female out and put her in Deieter's old 5 gallon tank and I set up my spare 10 gallon and put Deiter in there.
Now my dwarf puffer has the filtered 8 gallon hex with the ghost shrimp and he seems to be doing much better in there.
I peeked into Angus's 10 gallon hex and I found the beginning of a bubble nest! He started making it within 20 minutes of me moving him out of the filtered tank with the current. I love how he always swims up to the top of the tank as soon as I peer my head into his tank.
Then I moved my newest boy, Puck, out of his 2 gallon hex and into a 2.5 gallon tank my dwarf puffer used to be in. Do you think he would do better in the 2.5 gallon since it is longer and has more "swimming room"? I figured he would be better off in the longer 2.5 gallon than the tall 2 gallon hex.
But now...I have an empty 2 gallon hex just sitting on my trunk dresser.
