hi

Is it ok to use Melafix on Corys? if so do i use normal stated dose (2 capfuls(5mls) for every 40 litres) or a smaller dose?

Just for future reference and do i keep carbon in or out?

I know very little about community fish, but I've used Melafix on corydoras before with no problems at all.

Yes, you have to take the activated carbon out to medicate.

Infact, carbon is never needed in a tank. I haven't used it for many years in most of my tanks. IMO, carbon can't do anything a water change can do and it saves you a lot of money also. Get some filter floss and put it where the carbon is and you'll have a cleaner and happier tank where your fish are concerned.

Oh ok i guess i could save myself some dosh then, coz the carbon pads for my bio-lift filter are about £8 depending on what store i get them from.

Buy more fish food or treats for them i suppose, don't u use carbon to remove medications from the water?
