I change the water every other day when I'm medicating a betta.

The betta would be in a 1g, and I change 100% of the water.

I also think the water quality will deteriorate.

Are you adding any aquarium salt, Candy?

Make sure it's aquarium salt.

I add it to the bowl with the conditioner and then add water.

I would only put a small pinch in.

:)

sadly poseidion died last night..i had a feeling he was gonna go last night..guess not everything can be saved. went down to petshop where i saved him from ( he was in one of them little betta box things less then 250mls of water ) any way i told them he had died pointed out that 6 other bettas they had had finrot and the female was a male with munted fins.

anyway long story short. they said they would replace him i said no...they gave me voucher thingie....remeind me never to get fish from them agen..

i also got them to move a very sexy betta out of the male guppy tank that had a dead fish in it...

they offered me a job i laughed and said i would come talk to them when i was not mad

to bad a lost such a beautiful fish

To start with, bettafix is not for fintrot. It is a weak solution of melafix, which is not for finrot either. You have to kill the rot, then use the bettafix to (help ) aid in healing. Since Aquatronics is out of business, Bettamax and NeoSulfate is not available anymore, so get something Like maracynII, or Tetracycline. A heavier salt solution works well on some types of fin rot. Kill the rot, then heal it.
