Medaka Rice Fish?

Hello! I may or may not have just fallen in love with a certain fishy

Rice fish!

But..... I was going to set up my second proper tank for them! I have a quarantine tank, but I don't really count that as a proper tank! Even though it has a permanent resident.

So...

Can I keep them with sparkling gourami?

What tank size would I need for 6 of them?

Do they need a filter?

I will think of more questions soon and post them when I think of them. Thanks!

Not going to be helpful but was interested in what other people mention. The fact that the Medaka fish can be raised in colder water makes me interested in them, I want to move away from heating water for my fish.
