Hi,

I have got my tank set up at the mo with about 15 - 20 barbs, the most aggressive being tiger / green tigers.
I want to get either a rainbow or red tailed shark. I am lead to believe the rainbow is more of a community fish (so long as its the only shark, or only fish that looks similar) and the red tail is a bit more agressive? is this true?

Would either fish get on with my barbs?

Yes, is is true that Rainbows tend to be slightly less aggressive than the Red Tails, but as always, it does depend on the individual fish, especially with these it seems.

Either of them should be ok with your barbs.

i might go for it, but keep an eye on the noob over the weekend. Thanks for the advice

I think depending on the size tank it should be fine, both Sharks are more algae-grazers, tend to stay towards the bottom of the tank. Keeping sharks will of course, restrict future stocking options.

I think this will be the last addition to the tank, as its pretty well stocked now.
My next tank set-up will probs be a malawi species tank, but i cant see that happening for a long time
