Hi everyone!

I've already posted a few questions and decided an introduction is in order. Here goes: My name is Pamela (aka Lizard, aka GoatGirl). I'm a junior in college way up in Northern Wisconsin (think Lake Superior). Yes, it does get cold up here (though not as cold as where I'm from) and yes, we do get lots of snow B). I'm studying pre-veterinary medicine and writing.

Before I came to college I lived on a farm. Over the years my family and/or I have owned horses, cattle, goats, sheep, chickens, ducks, Guinea fowl, rabbits, dogs, and cats. After coming to college I've owned rats and fish. Before college, I raised dairy goats, for fun and for milk (more info about them on my website; URL below). Currently, I only have one goat (she's lonely, I need to find her a companion) and one dog, both of which reside at my parents' place. Once I'm out of the dorms and have room for critters, I'll have my dog and goat with me, and a few more goats, and who knows what else. Someday I want to get a wild mustang from the BLM and tame/raise it.

Some of my non-animal interests (what are those? LOL) include music - listening to it and playing piano, reading, being outside (okay, so it's animal related), working on my web page (something I haven't done a lot of since being in college), spending time with my sister, writing, playing with children/babysitting, scrapbooking, visiting my friends back home, spending time with my "other half" (boyfriend), weather "stuff", and I forget what else right now.

As I just mentioned, I have a boyfriend. We've been dating just over a year and a half, and I think we're going to get engaged soon (I've been told it'll be in the next six months) :) :D He's a meteorologist, currently searching for a meteorology-related job. He graduated in May from the school I'm attending. He's recently moved up to the town I attend school in, from Illinois. It's very nice having him close by. While do-able, long distance relationships aren't fun and are oftentimes difficult. He's very accepting of my goat "addiction" and realizes that we will have a herd of goats some day, as well as a plethora of other animals.

As do all people that I know, I have a mother and a father :) They're, well, parents. I love them dearly, but we do have our issues with each other, especially since I've moved out, attended college, and have been exposed to "the rest of the world". I grew up in a little town - <500 people - up in Northern MN. The coldest I ever remember it getting up there was -50*. That is the official temp for whatever day it was. I was an observer for the National Weather Service until I came to college. Back to family info: I have a "little" sister, who is two and a half years my junior and nearly six inches taller than me. I miss her a lot.

A vet and his wife have "adopted" me as one of their children. They have three adopted children, who are absolutely wonderful! They're like siblings to me, and their parents and like parents to me. They're my second family. Wonderful people.

I think that's the "basics" (and then some) about me. I found this forum tonight, but have already posted numerous times, am enjoying it, and am learning lots.
