i have a mbu puffer which has a lump under its mouth.
it has been there for about a month nw and now appears to be growing in size.
the lump looks solid and is now restricting his eating.
does anyone know what this could be?
and how i could help him?

Im assuming you have him in a large tank with good filtration and water quality. Have you checked his beak, making sure its not overgrown?
