max jack dempsey size

i went to my local fish store a few weeks ago and saw a dempsey around 10". did not know they got that big? I went back a few weeks later they had another one that dwarfed the other one they had. I know it sounds like crap but he was at least 13" . I know what your thinking and its not a identification problem. To bad they allready sold them. All the info i get says 9" max any one else ever seen a large one. mine is about 7".

mines about 8 inches but I have seen one that was about 10 inches

I've heard of a few 12" jd's before. Sometimes it's normal for fish to get bigger in aquariums then in the wild.
