I've just subscribed to the media donation scheme, and I must say, it's not very well laid out. The current layout would be fine if someone updated it periodically, but it doesn't happen. I imagine it would be a rubbish job. (Credit to RDD1952 for tidying it a while back :good: , but it has become cluttered again)

My suggestion is that instead of a pinned thread, we should have a sub-forum. Within the 'Media Donation' sub-forum, we could have further sub-forums for England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, USA, Australia, Canada etc etc.

Within those sub-forums, more sub-forums for localities, states, counties etc.

So for instance, if I needed mature media, I would simply go to Media Donation >> Scotland >> Edinburgh and Lothians, and I would find everyone in my area easily, rather than trawling through the ever expanding thread, as I would have to do at the moment.

It would take a bit of setting up, but shouldn't be too bad. I think it would be worth it to make it more user friendly.

Thoughts?

I must admit to being quite lax on that thread. I decided to undertake that task a while back and had intentions of getting it up to date but I hate HTML and thus just got bogged down in it. The only problem with subforums is that we still really don't have a lot of people that have added their name AND are still active. I know that I deleted a lot of inactive (at least a year since last log-in) members before and there are problably more that could be removed at this point. If I can get it updated, I think it would be fine with an alphabetical list by country/city. At that point, the thread could actually be closed and subsequent subscribers could just PM me or another mod to add their name to the list. I will try to work more on getting it caught up.

I didn't consider how many active members had subscribed, RDD.

Now that you mention that, my idea does seem like a lot of work for no reason. Your idea is better.

If at first you don't succeed,.......................

Cheers

The list is now up to date. I removed all the other posts in order to make the thread simpler to read. There really wasn't anything left there that was of any value to the thread since everyone that had volunteered is now listed and those asking for media either had found it or weren't going to find it. I closed the thread to keep it clean but there is a post explaining the procedure for finding media and for adding your name to the list.
