5/6 neons that i bought last thrusday are now dead, 1 died on saturday and i checked the water, it was perfect fine as when i added them, then I slowly started not seeing all of them so today I did some hunting and found 2 bags of bone no real shape to them and 1 must of died today.

Just tested my water and i have no ammonia nitrites are same as when i added .1 mg/l and nitrates are below 5 mg/l

my clown plec is perfectly fine looking great.

Bet your neons had something wrong when you bought them ,same as my catfish.

Sadly Neons are no longer very hardy fish due to mass commercail breeding, any that I find around here only last a month at most and I can't figure out why so I leave them well alone, Neon Tetra Disease amoungst others seems to affect alot. One shop near me has stopped selling them due to complaints and refund demands, sad really.

well that is an ass, I think I'll buy 4 platties tomowrow instead that can later move in with the crabs, or maybe help cycle my new tank, then in with the crabs!!

so shall i dig a hole for the last 1....

I found my clown plecs hiding place, its a hole in the bogwood which is shaded from the light so you can't see it, but I lifted the bogwood out looking for the neon bodies and then noticed my litle guy puffing away in a hole so got him back in swiftly, think i'll get a surface skimmer for my filter, the plants make so much of a mess.
