Ok marron season it gose for 23 days and marron are caught using drop nets (max of 6 per licence) scoop nets (1 per licence) and snares (1 per licence) snare only waters are in all major damns and certan parts of the warren river licences are need for marroning adults at $22 AUD and children under 16 or concession $11 AUD scoop nets can be used everywhere except in the damns / parts of the warren river and only one of these methodes may be used at one time in trouphy waters marron must be 90mm carapace length and general waters is 80mm
marron drop nets are often baited with chook pellets and left for as long as 24 hours but the drop nets bust have a certan size mesh bottom so the undersized marron drop out
scoop nets also must not consist of fine mesh
and snares consist of a pole with a looped wire on the end that must be slipped round the marrons tail and pulled tight to capture it
and best of all they are best fried in a pan but them in the freezer till they are limp and stick the knife right down the middle of them to kill them instantly ther will still be movment due to nerves and frie them in the pan shell side down in halfs
