my penguin 100 filter's bio wheel is not spinning properly...its goes at normal speed for a rotation then pauses for a bit then rotates again then pauses and so on...is there anything i can/should do? i dont know if this is even a problem, just making sure...

Thanks in advance!

Have you tried removing the wheel and examining the contact points? Perhaps they just need to be cleaned.

yea i took it out and gave em a little rub and nothing changed...the water flow from the filter is constant, so thats not it either

Thanks for the reply!

I had the same problem with my biowheels until I started messing with the filter cartridges. I noticed if I pulled the cartridges up then the water from the filter would be released higher from a higher point thus getting more contact with the biowheel. The cartridges just get heavy after a while and sag a bit from all the debre from the tank. Keep you water level high and cartridges pulled up every so often is my advice to you.
