marine tanks

Hi people.... Have been looking at marine tanks for a little while and was wondering if they are hard to keep, i have had a tropical tank now for around 2 years with no major problems and would love a marine tank but want to be sure i can manage it. Any advice would be fantastic. Many thanks Tom.

they are much harder than tropicals unless you have the right equiptment.

You at least need.

a skimmer
metal hilides
some half deasent power heads. (tunze we use)

They are not too hard as long as you are careful with your planning and prepared to spend money when it is needed. There is a whole section on marines on this forum here :

What sort of tank size are you looking at setting up?

ps. A good book really is worth it in terms of giving you a balanced overview of saltwater setups.

They are not hard if you have done your research and know what you are doing and don't try to take shortcuts one of the biggest piece of advice is don't rush into things and be patient.
