Hi,

i hope this isn't seen as rude of me to join and post a poll straight away but this research for my personal interest project and sparsholt college - ornamental fisheries management course, and i'm sure it will help newbies to marine keeping see what sort of size tanks are out there :)

If you have multiple tanks then could you please use an average size of them :)

thanks :)

Agree with Lynden...just that the smaller the tank, the more unstable it is with regards to handling contamination and requires a bit more attention to water quality, per se. SH

yeah those results are pretty much what I would have expected. Most people have moderate sized tanks, a bunch of nanos, and few really big tanks. Pretty indicative of most in the hobby. I bet most of us would love a big one, but money and space limits that ability

Doing an average is silly. I currently have one system with a total volume in the 150 imp gallon range, and another tank that is less than 6 gallons. An average would indicate that I have a mid range sized tank that doesn't take account of the completely different challenges faced on the two ends of the tank size spectrum.

I've only just moved into marine tanks - got a nice little nano-cube up and running :)

I'm happy with the nano but if TV doesn't improve within the next 3 months I'm planning on getting a 750l tank (actually if I can persuade the wife regardless of TV).
